Lucas' Museum Headed To Chicago?
Bespin refugee - April 10, 2014
With the revised proposal for George Lucas' Cultural Art Museum having been rejected by the Presidio Trust board, the city of Chicago is said to be looking at potential sites, in an attempt to bring the museum there. Lucas considers Chicago his "second home"; in addition living there part time, he and his wife, Chicago investment executive, Mellody Hobson, have committed $25 million, each, to two local, education-focused charities. The museum, which would be built without taxpayer support, would feature collections of work by Maxfield Parrish and Norman Rockwell, as well as a look at the art of storytelling, digital animation and special effects.
