Zack Snyder Working On A Stand-Alone Star Wars Movie (Updated)
Jay Cochran - January 14, 2013

UPDATE: THR is reporting that Zack Snyder's reps are denying the story first reported by Vulture. This could simply just be a cover up until some type of official announcement about the project is made or Vulture's sources could simply be full of BS. Only time will tell which one is correct but we will be sure to update you when we learn more.

Vulture is reporting that Watchman director Zack Snyder is looking to take on a new Star Wars movie project that would take place outside of the normal Star Wars continuity. We already know since Disney purchased the Star Wars franchise from it's creator George Lucas that plans were moving forward to make 3 more movies that would take place after the events of Episode VI, Return of the Jedi. These movies would be labeled Episodes VII - IX. Now it would seems that fans are going to get another Star Wars movie that will be loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai. Think Jedi Knights with lightsabers instead of ronin and katanas. It is unclear where this untitled Jedi film would fall in the Star Wars chronology, but it is expected to take place sometime post Episode IV.

What do you think, does this sound like a good idea or could it be a case of overkill that could cause a lot of confusion with 3 other new Star Wars movies already in the works?
