I hope they can pull off a healthy mix, the mostly obscure with a handful of anchor characters to hold down the wave. I don't know, though. The whole endeavor made me nervous, and I'd like to see them succeed.

Its proof positive why they shouldn't mix Rigellian Bloodwine with Romulan Ale....makes them come up with all kinds of notions that defy common sense.

Seriously though while I applaud interest in deep dives, you don't do it to the exclusion of the main characters. Hence the outrage they received that's causing them to adjust course. Judging from his comment that they are "talking to Paramount" and they think they've "come up with a solution" , tends to make it seems like you're right, there probably was a licensing issue of some sort involved.

I hope they get it worked out. I'd love an articulated Star Trek Enterprise bridge crew with the TWOK uniforms. Love those uniforms. And anElaan of Troyius figure? Take my money.

I'm just loving that this has gotten some chatter about star trek toys.

I personally love the idea of obscure and strange variations of characters, but I get why people want the basic assortment instead. However please do that after we get this first awesome wave of figures I've been waiting decades for!

BB_Shockwave - 2024-11-21 @ 12:38 am

A good call. I want many of these obscure characters too, but I don't yet have any good toys for the main cast, either - I mean, we had Playmates do one wave of TNG and TOS with Discovery and that was that. And the old toys from the 90ies are let's face it, pretty terrible, barely resembling the characters.

I've wanted good Star Trek 1/12th scale figures forever that were cost efficient, but I only want the main characters, personally. I'd be passing on most of these easily. I'm glad they're reconsidering including the main characters now.

I didn't even realize they said they were going to actively avoid main crew members in their iconic looks, that's even more baffling than starting with relatively obscure characters. Like, is it some kind of weird licensing issue? I don't get it

I thought the plan was a first wave of deep cuts to show how deep they're going to go. Then a second wave with more familiar characters mixed in.

Very annoyed that Geo-Force doesn't seem to be available to pre-order online. I'll probably buy both versions if I ever find them.

I don't really care at this point about this Skeleton Crew show, I'm sadly not impressed with what I've seen, but whatever, I do however love Space Werewolf and Little Elephant kid, and not so sure why Jude Law keeps looking like Kevin Spacy?

I might actually buy Brutus and Neel...

Heh, same here. I really do not care about this show (or is it a movie? I really dunno) but I definitely want a space Werewolf pirate dressed like a wild west cowboy. Given how in Hungary, Half-Price is full of discounted Ahsoka and Acolyte Black Series toys already, I'll just wait for these to show up there as well.
