Hasbro definitely has to get releases approved by Lucasfilm, and Im sure supporting the new media is part of it. But you have to also consider that when Hasbro decides what figures to make from a new series, they generally have little insight into the story or characters, and obviously they have no way of knowing whether the show will be good or not because it often hasnt even finished filming. So its fairly reasonable to decide to produce the main characters from each show.

I've always believed Hasbro Star Wars was at the mercy of Disney. There's no way the team is enthusiastic about making multiple pegwarmers from every show that comes out (and I'm not saying every new media character is a pegwarmer, but many figures that get made are pretty low demand).

Its called CONTRACTUAL FULLFILMENT. The details are essentialy in the licensee's marketing agreement of &/or with Disney's New Star Wars media (shows, movies, games, etc.). Thus Hasbro is obligated to put out x-amount of ACOLYTE figures which they are given an extra finnancial kick-back on. Under A merchandise marketing clause.

Its why more times then not, that those 'new media' figures have the updated tooling, new cloth templates & our "factory put together" a little better then your classic -- run of the mill -- more popular; comic book versions.

Same w/ the MCU, when they put out A new garbadge Captain Marvel or Captain America movie.. We want the classic Cap figure to have them butterfly's, bigger shield, newly sculpted boots etc. Yet (usually) All the updated tooling goes on the lame new Disney version(s) of the Captain America character first. Its essentially the same w/ the actual figure selection process. I.e. Contractual obligation; that comes w/ finnancial production incentives to give new media marketing contracts cart blanche over everthing else.

I know people incessantly criticize Hasbro's design teams for their character choices, but I have to think they can look at many of these figures and know they aren't going to sell, even if they don't know quite know how the show will turn out. This comes up with MCU figures too. Hasbro had to know they were going to take a bath on a lot of these. These choices were being made for them somewhere else.

Its just unfortunate that Hasbros sale/budget apparently accommodates so few new figures, that those new media slots take such a large percentage of the annual releases.

The Bad Batch have all been released in the Black Series (first and second season looks). They weren't all easy to find, though, but since Hunter and Crosshair were finally rereleased this year, the Ebay prices on those two have dropped a lot. I think you could probably grab all of Clone Force 99 + Omega for around $150.

Riyo Chuchi, Cid, older Omega, Emerie, Royce Hemrick, Lama Su, Phee Genoa all deserve figures.

Yeah I'd plunk down a good chunk of change for Max Rebo, Sny Snootles and the band and dancers, Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Lobot, Biggs, All Prequel Palpatine's and much more but instead none of that is even in the pipeline but here is the 701st Clone that had 35 seconds of screen time. I'm still waiting for a good ROTS Anakin Skywalker.

Right? I chatted with a couple members of the Star Wars team at San Diego Comic Con. They have little interest in supporting characters from the original trilogy. This bunch may not be at the top of your list, but pretty important characters like Lobot, Biggs Darklighter, Nien Nunb, Zev Senesca, etc may never exist in 6"

We don't even have a Death Star Gunner in 1:12 scale. Even vintage has one. I won't rant about key Imperial characters that are missing because I guess a new head on an officer body isn't that exciting, but what about Clone Wars Jedi like Shaak Ti? There are a number of characters that appear in multiple episodes of Clone Wars (the best Star Wars media since Empire Strikes Back) that haven't sniffed the Black Series.

I'd be angrier about this, but my Star Wars fandom has dramatically decreased in the last 10 years. I have a lot of Black Series figures that I love (and I just had one on my wishlist fulfilled in the form of the Commando Droid), but it's not a line I get emotional about.
