It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Star Wars: The Black Series Inquisitor and Duros Bounty Hunter (Halloween Edition) 2-pack from
Hasbro!
Yes! More Star Wars Halloween Edition figures! This set is exclusive to
Amazon. I'm a sucker for those holiday themed figures, and love
Halloween so this was a no-brainer. Could it have been done better?
Sure. But I'm still glad we got something!
I thought this set would be available around
Halloween, but it came way earlier than I thought (
Amazon started to ship them in
late July/early August), so I've been keeping it on the side for
October. The packaging is quite sober, using purple and orange (
official Halloween colors!). Not sure why it came as a 2-pack, while the previous
Skeleton Clone Trooper and
Wookiee were sold separately, but hey, as long as they don't make me buy each from separate stores like the
Christmas ones, I'm fine with it!
The
Inquisitor figure has been
revamped (
pun intended) as a
vampire, in the style of
Dracula, while
Cad Bane (or just a random
Duros bounty hunter) has been turned into the
Frankenstein Monster. They also come with a vampire
Mynock (black with purple wings) and a tiny
Anzellan also dressed as the Frankenstein Monster. The
Inquisitor comes with a
knife and
sheath, and a
stick (
supposed to be a stake?). The
Duros bounty hunter has an
electrostaff with
effects, because electricity!
Get it? The figures are pretty standard, using the same mold as the original
Black Series ones, even having the blaster holders on the
Duros bounty hunter's legs,
although he doesn't come with blasters... The
Halloween decos are really nice, though!
I mentioned it could have been done better, so here is my rant: They have
Christopher Lee (
Count Dooku) and
Peter Cushing (
Grand Moff Tarkin) in the Star Wars world, who both played in a
Frankenstein movie (
The Curse of Frankenstein, 1957 with Peter Cushing as Victor Frankenstein and Christopher Lee as the Monster) *and* a
Dracula movie (
Dracula, 1958 with Christopher Lee as Dracula and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing). I imagine it is a licensing issue, but having either of them in this 2-pack would have been a nice nod. (
NECA has a great Christopher Lee Dracula figure out right now, so I guess we got that going for us.)
The
Star Wars: The Black Series Inquisitor and Duros Bounty Hunter (Halloween Edition) 2-pack is still available on
Amazon if you want one!

Well, I1m in the minority, but these repaints do enough for me. From the Halloween aspect, it just does what it tend to be. Also, the accessories are nice. I do agree on how the two classic actors would be cool to have in the form of Dracula and Frankenstein, but there are always missed opportunities. it's a fun ride though. The review is a blast as always!

Thank You, appreciate it but I'm in Canada and it's still regular price here, and to import it from US will be full price for me as well sadly.

I saw this was on sale at Amazon yesterday (still is). Still not super interested in them though. I love the first two Halloween SW figures but these just... don't do anything for me. Great point about Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, kind of a missed opportunity.
