For those attending the Star Wars Celebration Europe convention this weekend, they will be able to pre-order the new Star Wars The Black Series Darth Vader (Revenge of the Jedi) figure at the Hasbro booth (N200) using a pre-order code they give you. For those not attending the convention, the figure will go up for pre-order on April 11th at 1:00pm ET on Hasbro Pulse. They suggest there will only be limited quantities available but since these are only pre-orders and the actual figure isn't being sold right now, I wouldn't worry to much about getting your hands on this figure if it's one you want to add to your collection. If this goes like the exclusives they did last year at SDCC, the pre-order code they give out at the convention will likely just take folks to a hidden pre-order page that is already up on the Pulse website, and once people start passing that link around online anyone will be able to pre-order the figure. If that link does in fact surface online over the weekend then we will be sure to update you all here with it.
So retailers I talked to said they've been told by Hasbro reps pre-orders will happen on the stuff revealed this week. So there seems to be a disconnect within Hasbro between what Hasbro put out yesterday (Though not on their own social media channels I might add) and what is being told to etailers.
If it turns out true they are not gonna do pre-orders, saying its from collector feeback and they are doing it for them is just BS. No one forces you to pre-order something. If you don't like to have all these pre-orders then dont pre-order them. Taking the option off the table for everyone only hurts the small etailer businesses. And I asked some of these etailers what they thought, and they said if its true then its bad for them
Just now, Jscott991 said:To close the loop on my own post, it seems they are scaling back (if not doing away with) preorders. They posted that because of fan complaints basically all Star Wars stuff was just going to have estimated shelf dates without preorders.
This is a major step backwards for collecting. No preorders, windowless packaging, and price increases are going to choke the life out of 1:12 collecting, I think. I'm worried about Classified, Black Series, and Legends.
Until there's any indication otherwise, it's a Star Wars only thing, and may only last the next year. I read on Yakface that the Star Wars brand currently has around 100 outstanding preorders. Doing away with them for 2023 and part of 2024 isn't the best solution (or even a good one), but it seems to be what the team there decided would be a way to allow everyone to catch up.

Are they doing away with preorders? That's going to make collecting "fun."

I've been waiting a long time for Darth Malgus. Too long. I'm looking forward to finally getting the big bastard, but I am not looking forward to the "deluxe" price tag is going to be. I'm hoping it won't be more than Saw or Wrecker, but I have a bad feeling that it will be.

Im very happy about Ki Adi Mundi and Darth Malgus getting figures, skipping the rest. If the Book of Boba Fett Luke is actually accurate this time around, I might get it.
Excited to get another chance at a starkiller. He has always evaded my searches. Maybe someday we can get another chance at episode 3 anakin and obiwan as well.
