Indiana Jones 6" Adventure Series Temple Of Doom Indy Figure Revealed

By Bespin refugee on 2022-12-01 in Action Figures
The first wave of Hasbro's new line of 6" Indiana Jones Adventure series figures has already shown up at Toy Hideout in CA and with the figures already announced we get our first look at one additional as of yet unannounced figure.

The unannounced figure is based on Indy himself in tux from the opening scene in Temple Of Doom at Club Obi Wan. The figure is listed as "Indiana Jones (Club Obi Wan)". My guess this is a stand-alone figure possibly being released as a store exclusive here in the US, but those details are not yet known.

All the announced figures from wave 1 which includes Indiana Jones, Arnold Toht, Belloq, Marion with Monkey and Sallah are based on the first movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. Each of those figure will include a piece to make a 6" scale Ark of the Covenant.

While the entire first wave along with this bonus Indy figure has already shown up at this store in CA, likely from an overseas distributor, Hasbro has only officially solicited the Indiana Jones and Toht figures from the first wave which are available for pre-order at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth.

It's not known when Hasbro will open up pre-orders for the other figures in the wave or officially tell us about this extra Indy figure from Temple of Doom. When those details become available we will be sure to update you.

That's a great looking Indy figure and not one I was expecting to see anytime soon.

Ah, thats good news. I didnt actually attend the SW panel so I had no idea Wicket was announced. Im used to just walking to the Hasbro booth an hour after the panel and figuring out what was revealed based on what was added to the display case but I guess with this new pipeline system that no longer works lol.

The catch with Indy is we have to expect that the majority of figures (especially at first) will probably be based on the new film. So even though there arent a ton of figures in that franchise it could still take awhile to get to the ones we want.

Do we know that Wicket and the Ewoks are coming? I dont recall hearing that. One would hope those might at the very least be in a ROTJ anniversary set but given how Hasbro has been so heavy on rereleases and repaints these past few years that anniversary set most likely will be rerelease focused thus just stuff like rereleases of Jedi Luke, Endor Han, Endor Leia, Palace/Skiff Boba, Emperor, Vader etcall things weve already gotten multiple times only this time on a retro style card back. That seems to be what Hasbro has been doing more often than not.

wicket is a no-brainer, super easy repaint since they already released teebo.

as for indy, how many figures do u guys honestly think are coming? i get ghostbusters vibes thinking about this line. like we'll get an indy 5 indy and raiders indy and maybe a pulse or con exclusive father/son last crusade set. itll be really cool if this line goes way deeper but idk

Wicket is smaller than Teebo, so he'd better not be a repaint. No clue how deep the Indiana Jones line is going to go, but again, as InspectorZartan had speculated, if the line is run like the Black Series, and it likely will be, it will focus heavily on the newest movie with a sprinkling of classic characters. I would also expect to see at least Indy from Raiders, TOD, Last Crusade, and Crystal Skull (along with Indy from Part 5), as the Black Series model clearly dictates releasing Luke Skywalker figures in every single look he's ever had in Star Wars.

Remember in 2019 when Hasbro ran a fan poll for ESB Black Series figures, Snowspeeder Wedge, Lobot, and the Surgical Droid were all leading, then the poll closed and Hasbro quickly announced that Dagobah Luke was the winner, complete with a render they coincidentally had ready to go, and years later we still have no sign of the runners up? Wicket, we at least know is on the way.At least there are fewer characters in the Indiana Jones franchise, so I would hope that would mean we wouldn't have to wait forever on Katanga and Kazin. Then again, we probably would.

Thats from the 90s Hasbro/Kenner era. Im talking about original vintage Kenner (pre Hasbro, 1978-1985)
