Despite the announcement the other day that
Hasbro would be throwing in an extra
6" Black Series Rancor Keeper figure with their
Haslab Black Series Rancor Monster campaign, the project continues to seemingly struggle in meeting it's minimum backer goal of 9k. With just over 2 days to go before ending, the campaign only has 5,256 backers leaving it shy of 3,744 people needed in order for
Hasbro to move forward with production of the figure.
While the announcement of the addition of the
Rancor Keeper figure did give the project a little bit of a boost, the likely hood of this one meeting its goal is looking less and less likely. It's unclear if
Hasbro will extend the campaign's deadline which right now is 1:59 PM EST on 12/06/2021. This is a tactic we have seen them use before with other
Haslab campaigns such as the one they did for the
Transformers Unicron.
Until now the only
Haslab campaign to actually
FAIL in getting funded was one they tried doing a couple years ago for a
38" Tall Sesame Street Cookie Monster.
Of course the
Rancor isn't the only
Haslab campaign in danger of failing.
Hasbro when they launched the
Rancor also decided to launch two other
Haslab campaigns, one for a
Ghostbusters Proton Pack which has already met it's minimum funding goal and a
G.I. Joe Skystriker which has just over 3 days before ending and still needs and additional 3428 backers before it meets it's minimum funding goal.
Like with the
Rancor, Hasbro in the final days has added extra figures to the
G.I. Joe Skystriker in hopes of enticing enough people to back the project so it will be funded. Like the Rancor it remains to be seen if that will be enough to accomplish their goals or if they will consider extending the deadline on that one as well.
If
Hasbro ends up with
TWO FAILED Haslab campaigns here on their resume, it begs the question of how that might impact any future Haslab campaigns? The Rancor is the third Star Wars campaign to be launched on
Haslab, but the first one they have tried to do for the
Black Series line.
