Hasbro's Black Series Retro Cardback Clone Wars Figures To See Bludd At Target Soon

Jay Cochran - May 07, 2021
In what might be described as a perfect storm of chaos for collectors, it is looking more and more like the previously announced Target Exclusive Black Series Star Wars: The Clone Wars Retro Card Back figures will be forgoing any kind of pre-order time on Target's website and simply just start showing up at stores in a little over a week from now.

I've checked with multiple stores and it looks like the figures will start hitting stock rooms on May 19th. That day might vary for some stores coming in a little earlier or a little later. At this time there are no indications the figures will be held back once they arrive at stores, so you could expect to see them on shelves the next day which in most cases would be the 20th.

Besides the Clone Wars figures, it also looks like Hasbro's G.I. Joe Classified Cobra Island Target exclusive Major Bludd figure will also be hitting Target stock rooms around that same time. Again for most stores its looking like the 19th will be the day. Again it's not clear if their will be some kind of embargo sale date placed on the figure, but at this time there is no indication of that.

Both the Clone Wars figures as well as Bludd are likely going to start off arriving at Target stores in short supply with high demand from collectors. This in turn not only will bring collectors out to the stores looking for them, but scalpers as well. So good luck and May The Force Be With You.

So basically if you're just an ML or DC collector, probably best to just steer clear of Target for a few weeks starting 5/19. No problemo

I can sort of understand why so many of the joes are target exclusives - the line has had a few failed relaunches over the decades, the movie got pushed back... so hasbro was desperate to persuade the big two to carry the line.

But star wars? makes me wonder if target is tired of carrying the black series? but i guess maybe it just comes down to the clone war packaging, and these figures will be available more widely in a year or so? altho that theory hasn't panned out all that well with the target exclusive joes aside from cobra trooper
