LEGO Announces New Art Line

By Jay Cochran on 2020-07-01 in Action Figures
Through LEGO Art sets, adults can experience a different 2D tile creative concept as they use LEGO tiles to transform a blank canvas with small interlinking base plates. Keeping self-expression at the forefront, each set can be reimagined in a number of different ways to best represent each unique builder, allowing them to creatively transform their passion into art.

LEGO Art includes four sets across film, TV and music - something for every adult wanting to destress and pay homage to their famous idols. Geared toward helping these creatives relax and recharge, each set also comes with added soundtracks including music and celeb interviews to help them get in the right ‘frame’ of mind and inspire the best creative builds. Once done, simply use the new hanging element to proudly display in your home, office, art studio or anywhere you’d like!

See key feature and set names below:

-LEGO Art’s Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe | 3,332 pieces | 4-in-1 Collectible Wall Art Building Kit for Adults

Ohh I actually saw something similar to this. An artist had some project at his school that involved this type of art, of pixel-like art.

And he came out with this brilliant idea of collecting all keyboard keys, whatever the colors, he would take the old keyboards and collect the letters from them.

He painted those letters and he created lets say Van Goth style of art using only keyboard keys.

I'm sure everyone saw at least once this video that showed off his way of creating art.

Pretty neat. Im not a Lego collector and dont have wall space for things like this so I wont be getting it but it is a good idea.

Outside of an occasional free SDCC giveaway or something along those lines the only Legos I have are from my childhood (The space station set). These have been sitting in my closet but just the other week I decided I should pull them out and find space for them in my new toy rooms configuration. So about a week ago I went through them as well as some other builder sets I had as a kid (Construx, and a Non brand international medievalcastle brick set)and constructed them for the first time in decades. It was fun, and now I have a lego/brickshelf included in one of my toy rooms

I've been seeing works like this at Lego shows for years, so I figured it was only a matter of time before Lego decided to capitalize on it.
