Star Wars: The Vintage Collection The Mandalorian Troop Transport Available For Pre-Order

By Jay Cochran on 2020-02-04 in Action Figures
Looks like Hasbro is giving us a Vintage Collection 3.75" scale Imperial Troop Transport vehicle based on it's appearance from the new Disney+ Mandalorian series.

Of course the original Troop Transport was created by Kenner even though the vehicle itself never appeared in any of the original Star Wars movies.

While this one doesn't seem to have any electronics like the original toy, this one is more detailed and features a top opening hatch that allows you to seat six figures inside as well as hold six additional figures on the out side and two figures in the front driver section. You also get a swivel turret on the top.

You can pre-order this now at BigBadToyStore.com.

Pretty cool, this is a good example of what Vonner said in the interview of being able to do more with this scale. That said, I'm not collecting 4'' Star Wars anymore due to a number of reasons so I won't be getting this but cool on them for making it.

This looks freakin awesome and will definitely be picking this up.

And hence why 3.75" is dying or dead. I mean I get your point and from the consumer stand point I understand why you might wait till it becomes less expensive, but from the manufacturer standpoint this line of thinking is exactly why the are moving away from this scale, its its no longer viable.

Hi Jay C.

I totally get your point, butHasbro has been using that excuse for a very long time.

3.75 is dying for them because they don't know what they are doing.

They came out with a great "Retro Collection" that got a lot of the fan base excited and sold tremendously well, but haven't really followed up with anything yet (especially when it comes to releasing figures that we never got back in the day, BUT should have been made). They killed the 5 POA line for the main line (right before the last movie of the new saga). Then, theyintroduced a NEW 5 inch figure line that is not very different from what the Disney Store has offered (and also is doing incredibly poorly in retail). Finally, the distribution of the Vintage Collection continues to be abysmal as far as retail is concerned. I was able to secure most of the Rise of Skywalker figures, but I haven't seen any since the original batch that was delivered to Target or Walmart. (However, you can still find plenty of Snokes, and Reys peg warming)

The game has changed, but Hasbro has failed to adapt when it comes to 3 3/4 inch figures. They neglected it for a long time, and haven't really made a strong effort to push this line. Give us a good product at a good price and the fans will support it. Nickel and diming the fans is not the way to do it.

Also, Hasbro needs to seriouslyimprove theirfreaking social media skills. Hasbro, is a big company and they have a terrible relationship with the fan community. (This goes for all of their lines: Transformers, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, etc.)

I love the 3 3/4 inch figure scale, and I hope it stays around.

Thanksfor all the great work JayC and I look forward to your coverage of Toy Fair 2020.

May the Force Be with you and have a great day !!!

This is exactly the type of thing I'm all over. I'm not going to wait for a sale. While I would love if it was cheaper I don't really mind the price given that I don't buy many Star Wars toys in this scale any more. If they keep releasing newly tooled Vehicles I will keep supporting it. The detail on the past few Vintage Collection releases has been fantastic.

Looks pretty good, but I'll wait for a sale. $70 is a bit pricey for what it is.

Excited to see this being released. Would have been cool if Hasbro had included sound effects as a nod to the original Kenner toy, but still looks good.
