Yesterday we told you how
Good Morning America was supposed to be announcing some exclusive Star Wars: The Force Awakens news this morning on their broadcast. Well it turns out the first part of their news was nothing really new. They confirmed what was
reported last week that the voice over you hear in the teaser trailer which debuted on Friday belongs to Andy Serkis (Lord Of The Rings, Kong, Planet Of The Apes).
The second part of their big reveal if it is to be believed is a little more interesting and perhaps adds an additional bit of mystery to the plot of the movie. According to them, that sound of a lightsaber igniting at the very end of the teaser trailer isn't just some random sword. The sound you hear is apparently the blade of Luke Skywalker's original blue lightsaber which previously belonged to his father Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and was lost somewhere in the bowels of Cloud City at the end of Empire Strikes Back after Luke got his hand cut off by Vader. How the blade fits into the story for this new movie remains unclear but as I mentioned it would certainly seem to add an additional element of mystery to the film slated to be released in December 2015. In case you missed the sound of the blade igniting at the end of the teaser trailer, you can check it out below.
