Since the comics are brand new now they can make up any outfit for the story just to make someone in something they never wore before. I think from here on out that is pretty much all the comic packs will be.

Sad, but most likely true, given we'll only get anohter 1-2 waves after these, and they'll be right before the movie sh** hits the fan and Hasbro will be too lazy to put out any NEW characters.

I LOVE the movie optimism!

I don't have a problem with giving old guys "new" outfits....these just look horrible and we can only hope they are prototypes or "quickie" frankensteins of some kind (if they are real). If these are real, the only real way they can salvage the comic packs is if they remember to throw in a "new" CHARACTER with some of these guys (not likely based on what was mentioned above). Or, at the least, some new gear.

I mean that Firefly/Storm Shadow pack was popular (so far as I know) because they gave good looks to overused characters AND gave them some new/interesting gear.

And I don't think anyone can really say the comics themselves are going to be "the draw" if the figures suck. I wasn't that impressed with the 2 new comics I've read so far (the Shipwreck/Copperhead one sucked and that Duke/Red Star one was so-so).

I agree with what this guy said,

...i'd lay major odds these are NOT the Omega Force/Resolute figures.

they are almost certainly primarily comic pack figures:

Snake Eyes will be from the Night Creeper/Snake Eyes 2 pack

Snake Eyes Vs Night 653569 38313

one of those Cobra Commanders will be from:

Scarlett vs Cobra C 653569 37448

The other from Cobra Commander -vs- Gung Ho

Gung Ho & Cobra Commander

UPC = 0065356937622

then Rock & Roll & Deep (Six)

UPC = 0065356937620

...and that Duke and Storm-Shadow just stink of a comic-Pack pairing.

The last 2 waves that showed up in the Wal-Mart Computers only had 2 sets and all the previous ones have had 3, i'm guessing one got missed.

obviously Para-Viper is from w.10 and Dusty is from the DVD pack.

The Trooper is w.11 Flint without the Flint head.

WOW I THINK U GOT A GREAT POINT! GREAT EYE!

Most of those look bad, reminds me of VvV & JvC

Dunno about the Gung Ho and Rock n' Roll, though. Maybe the comic pack versions, but I don't recall either of them really looking like that in the comics.

I don't recall the wave 4 comic pack Shipwreck or Duke sporting those looks in the comics either

Given release dates and retailer listings, the Gung Ho, Battle CC, Rock and roll, and Deep Six are likely part of the comic pack assortment due around Christmas.

Based on what we know now, thats about the only explaination.

My first thought, seeing the pics, is WHY are their waists so tiny? Look at those hips? Hell Duke's hips are almost as thick as his torso! And the others? The top of the hips should NOT stick out of the waist that bad.

And why the devil is Deep Six silver? Ugh. This is a prime example of why it's occasionally a terrible thing to see prototypes: because if they screw it up along the way, you know they had it right and somehow screwed it up along the way.

I'm not wondering why Deep Six is silver. I"m wondering why HE IS BEING USED AT ALL. Fake pics or not, he had one of the worst gimmicks for G.I. Joe ever.

I'll say what I said over at HISS Tank: The actual JvC/VvV figures look better than Hasbro's attempt at recreating them in the 25th style.

They haven't budged since the 80's? OH WAIT...G.I.JOE EXTREME & SIGMA SIX!!!

Funny coincidence: I figure that with the majority of the line being 'officially sanctioned customs' anyway, most of the customs I can make, Hasbro will make official versions of sooner or later. I was just looking at the Extreme figures on yojoe to see how difficult it would be to custom some of my 25th repaints into those characters, as I figure Hasbro won't make them anytime soon.

My first thought as I looked at them was "why haven't they already?" It would be embarrassingly easy for Hasbro to make characters like Lt. Stone, Sgt. Savage, Black Dragon, and Mayday out of already-existing 25A parts. They could even go the 'international route' and give them names of characters they closely resemble. For example, Mayday could be 'Urban Camo' Scarlett, Black Dragon could be 'Covert Ops' Snake Eyes, etc.

You see...THIS is where my head is at and what interests I have with the line expanding a little more. While the figures of EXTREME sucked, the story and the characters were cool enough, that i think a update of them, in the new style, would be worth the effort. I'm ALWAYS for something besides another SE, SS, CC, Destro, Duke, Firefly and Trooper of a thousand colors. This would be of definite interest to me, as well as some old ADVENTURE TEAM themes in 25th style.

Never been that fond of Adventure Team, as the 12" Joes were simply before my time. On the other hand, I'd certainly give them a look-see if Hasbro gave it a try. I thought the 12"-inspired keychain figures that came out at the tail end of ARAH were pretty slick. And hey, Mike Power and Bulletman would fit right into the late 80s Joe stuff.

Looking at the convention images of some of these, and comparing them to the same figures of Joeblows...

Wow. Could Dusty's helmet BE any uglier? Maybe if they cast it in neon and stuck a missile launcher on it, but otherwise...

And why the devil is Deep Six silver? Ugh. This is a prime example of why it's occasionally a terrible thing to see prototypes: because if they screw it up along the way, you know they had it right and somehow screwed it up along the way.
