Wow. The release of these waves is so low-key I really have to wonder about the future of this line.

I usually find out a new wave is out by doing periodic searches on eBay. None of my LCS's carry these.

I really have to ask why, when it comes to minimates, is the Marvel line the only one to truly flourish.

And put me down for a Romulan and an Andorian minimate. I can't believe we we're on Wave Five and have gone through THREE solid waves devoted solely to TOS without seeing either. We get Kirk in a prison uniform he wore in one single episode but no Romulan.

This might be the answer to my own question.

As I've mentioned before in previous threads, for up-to-the-minute Minimate info., there is no better site than minimatescentral.com . I highly recommend checking their site.

As far as the Trek 'mates go, it was always established that each series would contain a Kirk or Spock to facilitate sales. However with the current shift to expand into the entire Trek Universe, we may possibly see more variety as they can include 'heavy-hitters' from other genres (Picard, Sisco, etc.). This may help us get some more aliens, though it may take longer as the slots will be filled by other series. I just hope that DST no longer feels that they need to pair each TOS alien/character with Kirk/Spock as I can't think of many other versions (that we don't already have) that I'd want to see IMHO.

Not at all, they've only been out a few weeks...and not many seem to want to talk 'mates on this site. As much as I loved TNG, I've become more selective lately in my purchases. I've decided to just stick with the TOS stuff personally (probably for nostalgic reasons) so I didn't get the rest, but they looked pretty cool! Who knows, if they start pumping-out alot of TNG stuff (and I don't have my finances tied-up in other collections) I might just try to come back to these. I just received my 'Mirror, mirror' boxset and Series 4 Sick-bay McCoy/ Nurse Chapel the other day; I love'em! I'm looking forward to Series 5 'Tribbles Kirk/ Yoemen Rand to complete my "core crew". Hopefully I can get a few more aliens in the mix in the near future. I still think that a TOS Klingon Warrior/Romulan Soldier would be an awesome "army builder" exlclusive (if the interest was there). For now, I'm just stocking-up on the Series 3 Gladiator Kirk/ Kor packs to try and build a 'custom' Kang (Kor body and Luke Cage head)and Klingon landing/war party ('War of Doves' episode). Still need some Romulans and Andorians though.

*for those who don't already know, AMT/ERTL made an Enterprise 'Command Bridge' model a few years ago that is perfect for Star Trek TOS Minimates! I'll try to show some pic.s once I finally get mine finished. The Playmates 'Galileo' shuttle is also nicely scaled (once the big-ass seat is removed).
