VvV wasn't all bad, yes, the molds were not up to our standards, and overall the line was not liked. However, that said, some cool characters were introduced who, if their uniforms were slightly altered could easily fit in with the more classic joes.

Around the end of Spy Troops, I started losing interest in the new sculpt stuff and had went back to collecting vintage Joes.
VvV really sealed the deal.
I picked multipacks and comic packs because they're the cheapest "per figure" pricepoint.
I picked the oddball eras because some of those characters are the characters that have never been "done well" and have had the fewest homages.
Mercer rocks my socks. Ice Cream Soldier would be fun. If we must have another Duke, I'll take him in desert fatigues. Headman is just crazy cool.
If you take the best Joes and update them for 25th, nothing changes except proportions.
If you take the screwballs and the misfits, this could be their first chance at a cool toy if you tone down the loud colors and garish choices a bit.
Granted, not every 3rd stringer DESERVES a cool toy. But assuming this line will continue indefinitely (and I think it pretty much will -- and it will almost certainly resume after the movie and every repaint and redeco will be mined; does anyone DOUBT we'll see Shockwave?) then I would like to see a mix of the classics and staple characters with a representative or two from the various failed lines being given a second chance at life.
I don't want to see the whole Eco-Warriors team. But take Ozone. There's a guy we've seen in Star Brigade and Eco Warriors. His basic look is salvagable. And ONE environmental specialist on the team is tolerable diversity. (I don't need or want Flint or Barbeque or Deep Six shoe-horned into that role.) And Ozone represents both lines nicely enough as the one Joe who didn't have his whole look changed to fit in with Star Brigade or Eco-Warriors.
I don't need Cyborg Hawk or Space Snake-eyes. But a Blackstar or a Cesspool? Maybe.
I dunno. I'd want the main focus to be pre-movie Joes. But I'd like to seeone or two oddballs every wave, a single Joe or Cobra who represents an era or a team that isn't as "classic".

Well to me I think Hasbro has done a pretty good Job covering the Early Years (82, 83 & 84). Granted there are still some major holes in the line up (Zap, Short Fuze, Cover Girl and a several of the 84 Joes) but for the most part they have done a good job at those years. I think they need to start fleshing out 85, 86, and 87. There are a ton of classic characters from those years that still need to be made. Dusty, Airtight, Alpine, Mainframe, Dialtone, Lifeline, Zaranna, Zandar, Mindbender, Jinx, Tunnel Rat, Mercer etc.
In all honesty I won't feel like this whole 25th endevor has been worth while until every single character form 82-87 (with a few minor exceptions) has been made. I'm not saying i don't want other stuff too, but the nastolga factor is what is fueling this line for me and 82-87 is pretty much the main years i care about. I DO want to see some of the more modern characters made too like Barrel Roll, Bombstrike, Blackout, Scalpel and some more modern versions of many characters DD Spirit, DD Shipwreck, VvV Mindbender.

I really, REALLY want a Low-Light figure, but given the other two choices listed with him, I went with Jinx/Hit & Run/Chuckles (however, I think Chuckles should be replaced with Outback). The other figures listed I could really care less about.
I don't think the choices listed where the figures he thought should be made, but just examples of figures from that time period that havn't been made. You shouldn't have let the figures listed decide which era you picked.
