Product Backstory
Their climactic encounter more than two decades prior on the molten planet of Mustafar left a crippled and dying Anakin Skywalker consumed with hatred for his former Jedi mentor and friend Obi-Wan Kenobi. Blinded by the Dark Side, Skywalker became the apprentice to the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, publicly known as Emperor Palpatine. Thanks to his new master's timely arrival, Skywalker's life was saved, but in the process, he became 'more machine than man.' He was reborn as the vengeful, armor-encased embodiment of the Emperor's power - Darth Vader.
Many years later, Vader senses the presence of his old master aboard the Empire's greatest weapon, the Death Star space station. After alerting the station's commander, Grand Moff Tarkin, Vader seeks out and confronts Obi-Wan at the entrance to the hangar bay, his lightsaber blade glowing red in the shadows. Obi-Wan returns from his mission to neutralize the Death Star's tractor beam only to be confronted by his former apprentice.
Vader towers over the seemingly frail old man. "I've been waiting for you Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last."
Obi-Wan says nothing. He ignites his lightsaber's pale blue energy blade and steps forward.
Vader goads him, "The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner; now I am the master."
Obi-Wan retorts, "Only a master of evil, Darth." And with that, one of the most epic duels in cinema history begins.
