So there's a chance I can get my commodore la forge?
Talk about a mixed bag in terms of my reactions:
Yay- figures from the Secret Hideout-era series! (Not the biggest fan of every show, but there are some great characters and looks in each one)Boo - odd scale (which I understand for it's historic value of semi-mixing with the classic Playmates line, but I would seriously prefer a 1:12 scale or something compatible with the Art Asylum/DST-era figures).
Hopefully they won't be too difficult to get or be too expensive. I've managed to see a number of Master Replica released items down here in New Zealand from a few local sources, so fingers crossed that ease of availability persists for this line too.
So, roughly the same size as the original Playmate Star Trek figures.
Bruno Billion who was the one who took these images informed us that the figures are said to be 4.5" tall and also shown there was a Strange New Worlds Spock figure. Also note the figures shown are all mock-ups and protos.
These are in the 4.5 inch scale. In another video the back of the packaging is shown and it says they are 4.5 inches and have 10 points of articulation. They also give the indication that they will also be completing the crews.
I'm probably in the minority, but I would love to see a 6-inch line of the original Star Trek crew styled like the 1973 Filmation cartoon series which would lend itself well to toy interpretation.
I'm not the biggest Star Trek fan in the world, but I've always wanted good (but cost efficient) 1/12th scale figures of the original crew from the 80s movies and also from The Next Generation which watched when I was in high school. The only Star Trek figures that I have today are from the first reboot movie (with Chris Pine as Kirk) and I'm not a huge fan of those honestly. Ideally I'd like fully articulated 1/12th scale figures from those 2 series that I mentioned in the $20-25 each price range.
The Star Trek license is sliced really thin. Good luck to both companies.
I doubt I will ever get any of my dream figures (Dax in the TNG uniform, Carol Marcus from the Abramsverse, or a decent Seven of Nine), but I will certainly monitor both lines.
