This June, individuals will have a chanced to own their own Star Wars 'Battle Pod' arcade game. The game, which hit the U.S. market in January and Japan last month, comes with a panoramic dome screen, 5.1 channel surround sound and a vibrating seat for realism, will be available for about ¥4.6 million ($37,800); with a 'premium version' (available sometime after July), with leather seats, and their names listed in the game's credits, for ¥12 million ($98,600). A spokesman at Bandai Namco says, “We are not sure if this is the first time, but it is definitely rare that our game, developed for use at arcades, goes on sale for private customers.”
