Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that sources have confirmed that Mayor Rahm Emanuel has won a fierce competiton with Los Angeles and San Francisco to house a first-of-its-kind interactive museum and warehouse for movie mogul George Lucas formidable collection of artwork and "Star Wars" movie memorabilia. The Mayor's strong pitch to lure the $1 billion dollar investment has won out.
Currently, the lakefront museum campus in Chicago is the recommended location for the project.

A task force appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel has recommended the parking lots to the south of Soldier Field as the home for filmmaker George Lucas' collection of art and movie memorabilia, should the 'Star Wars' creator choose Chicago over San Francisco for his planned museum.
Lucas is expected to select a site for his Lucas Cultural Arts Museum this summer, according to a museum spokeswoman.
