2023 was a year of returns
The year started off with previews of the return of
The Bad Batch in season 2,
the return of
Indiana Jones action figures (3 3/4", 6"", and more),
and the first look at
season 3 of The Mandalorian
In addition to Mando, we finally saw how Christopher Lloyd fit into the story (along with Jack Black and Lizzo) , Ahmed Best's return to the franchise, and a live-action tease of
Star Wars Rebels
Warwick Davis' short-lived return as
Willow ended with its removal from Disney+
Cal Kestis returned in
Jedi Survivor
This year also saw the return of Star Wars Celebration to Europe,
Star Wars: Visions 2 (as well as, the premiere of
Young Jedi Adventures) on Disney+,, and the 40th anniversary of
Return Of The Jedi
This summer saw
Indiana Jones return for one last adventure, the
Haslab Ghost reach full funding, and
Ahsoka premieres on Disney+, with live-action incarnations of Hera, Sabine, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and more
Among the 'returns there were a couple of departures,, Actor
Ray Stevenson died a few months before the world saw his work on
Ahsoka
There were also a few OT-ish losses this year including....
Peter Mayhew's widow, Angie, who continued to carry on his legacy with the Peter Mayhew Foundation and convention appearances
Norman Reynolds, production designer on
Raiders Of The Lost Ark and
Star Wars
Mark Boudreaux, who designed many of the Kenner/Hasbro
Star Wars vehicles many of us grew up with.
2024 will mark the 25th anniversary of
The Phantom Menace, and we've already seen
Black Series and
Retro Collection figure previews.
