Peter Mayhew Helps "Littlest Wookiee" Get Lung Transplant

Kathlyn, a 24-year old with cystic fibrosis was unable to get aa lung transplant, and she was running out of time. Her parents reached out to Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew, who they had met at a convention years earlier. Mayhew, in turn, reached out via social media, on behalf of the "littlest Wookiee". ,” Abbas Ardehali, a cardiothoracic surgeon at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, heard the request and agreed to do the surgery; he said, “We felt that it’s our duty and obligation to provide her with that therapy.” '“He’s a hero. He’s my hero,” Chassey called Ardehali. “I can breathe. That first breath I took when I woke up after the transplant. It felt so clear.”...The devoted Star Wars fan said she owes her life to Mayhew and his wife, Angie'
