Star Wars Helping To Preserve Navajo Language

Bespin refugee - April 28, 2013
Lucasfilm Ltd. is joining forces with the Navajo Nation Museum and Navajo Parks and Recreation to dub Star Wars: A New Hope into Diné, the Navajo language. With funding from the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department, Star Wars will be the first mainstream movie to be dubbed into the Navajo language. The hope is that having the film dubbed will encourage their youth to learn the Navajo language, helping to preserve their culture.
