its unfair and kinda lame to compare movies without adjusting for inflation. I love the movie but TDK is only #30 alltime with Gone with the wind and SW E4 grossing over a billion each and selling many, many more tix.

I don't think its unfair b/c nothing will ever overtake Gone with the Wind. So if you don't adjust it will actually look like some of these other movies have a chance of hitting the record books instead of just all paling in comparison to the sweeping civil war epic.

Agreed. He prolly made the totals even more. The only way the totals for the third one can be any bigger would be for Bale, Freeman, and Caine to all bite the big one together. But frankly I think that a lot of people went because its Batman and even when the flicks sucked *ahem Batman and Robin ahem* people still went b/c Batman has another movies out. Sure some people went to see Ledger's last role, you know the curiosity factor, but I think by the time you sit through a few minutes you stop thinking about Ledger and concentrate on the movie. Its that damn good. I think a lot of the people having trouble understanding the flick were not paying attention to the movie and wondering about Ledger and this or that and not getting the bulk of the flick.

I was wondering what it would have been like if Ledger hadn't died as well. I mean its pretty obvious that the movie centers around him, but the actual story/plot doesn't all that much. If Ledger hadn't died you know not as many people would have gone to see this film. His death, although very sad, was a major draw for film goers.

So I came home & was talking to my roommate about TDK. & I started to wonder & say "i hope that Nolan at some point in time comes out with some kind of "Dark Knight Cronicles" of behind the scenes". I continued to say to my roomate that "Im sure that Nolan knew he had a masterpice on his hands even before Heath died........" & that where he jumped in with a bunch of crap about "its not a masterpice it has flaws blah blah blah & a bunch of other stuff that I couldn't make out (he's one of thoes dude you sometime see, that are so fat they talk like there out of breath & got mush in there mouth, even when there sitting down). Now I won't lie, he did kinda piss me off, but what realy ticked me off is that 1ts he didn't even let me make my flippin point about why I was calling it a masterpice. All I wanted to say was "is Nolan ever gonna publish something that tells his true original intentions about TDK if Heath never died.

But eff that bloated white whale!! I mean how lame do you gotta be to get jelious of a dead man. He's supose to be straight any way, so what does it matter to him if I'm head over heels w/Knight Fever!

So what if i'd drink the man's bath water, let him go find a chick that's just as lame to get it on with (eww, sorry. I just got a mental picture of that YUCK!). I need to get a place by myself any way. I've got a HUGE TDK SHRINE just waiting to go up on the walls, but my bedroom walls are all filled up with TFs & DCD.

oh well, at least he does find lots of way cool toys. So I'm happy at days end.

SUPREMEQUEEN - 2008-08-18 @ 2:26 pm

Yes pooda, I know that. I'm all worked up over the bonus that comes with the dvd. like when TFs was about to come out, I knew i'd be buying at least two copies of it. I got the Target version because it came packaged in that kick ass cool OP case, & I got Best Buy's cause it came with exclusive Robot Heros that will NEVER BE MADE AGAIN! That Cliff Jumper & Battle damage OP Robt Heros are worth a pretty penny in mint dvd condition.

So, I just need to know the: who, what, when, & where on any & all bonus Dark Knight info ok guys. Joker I know what you mean when you say "they always say that", but FYE/Suncoast have for quite some time now been having money troubles (i was there in the store when Pepsie came & removed their soda & cooler because Suncoast keep stiffing them on the bill). So I've seen them order dvd sparingly. But, I doubt that'll be the case with TDK. Like pooda said the movie will be every where (OR SHOULD I SAY, THE REGULAR VERSION) will be every where. Going back to Best Buy, they only got in a hand full of thoes Robot hero dvd packs, but tons of the regular ones.

So my point is simple. I'll have an anyerisum if I learn about a bonus fig being offerd & I end up missing out. SO PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED GUYS!

Oh dude if I'm more than five minutes later after the start time I go to another flick (the five minutes is those dumb tv commercials they for some reason play at the theaters). I hate being late for a flick.

I would soooo love if if TDK beat Titanic. I'm tired of that being the measuring stick of all decent movies. "Its doing well but Titanic is still on top" I would so dig it if they would say, "The film is doing well but Batman (or The Dark Knight) is still top of the heap"

btw Elvis is the man.

with superhero movies, im there atleast 20 mins ahead of time, with, my pre-bought tickets.

Thanks for the update joker & long live the king LOL.

Nothing would please me more to see TDK topple that sappy love story rust bucket grave ship. Any way I had to keep from killing a buddy of mine to night. we had plans to go & see TDK again but between his "breader girl friend" taking FOREVER to find a baby sitter (God thank you for making me g.ay) & him putting his foot in his mouth by agreeing to pick some one else up, we ended up missing the start!

& I'm not one of thoes people who think its ok to walk in to a movie 10 mins in to it already. needless to say I AM MEGA PISSED! any way I think i'll cheer my self up by buying this DK calendar that's at suncoast video. I was in there today placing an order for "Candy", one of Ledger's last films. I'm told by a person who IMO has excellant taste in good movies, that this film is a masterpice! well, that's good enough for me.

They also had a rubber Bank robbery Joker mask that looks like it'd make a cool halloween costume $25. If I were to get one i'd place it on a styrofone head & keep it as room deco rather than a costume.

I agree. I hate walking in late. It just ruins the movie for me if I get there late. Speaking of the DVD, an FYE store nearby is already taking preorders for it. They didn't have a release date but mentioned possibly the day after Thanksgiving for the "BIG" shopping day of the year. I hope it's sooner but it would sell a hell of a lot then. Might have to check in to that "Candy" movie.

JOKER GET THE (BLEEP) OUT!!!!!! FYE is taking pre"orders!!!! Ok ok, so did they say anything about what their dvd will come. with? I mean let's be real here people, its not that I'm worried that there won't be enough copyies, I'm worried about the bonus gift.

chillout......that dvd will be everywhere.

They really had no information other than they were taking preorders. He did say that they wouldn't get but just a few extra other than the ones reserved, but they always say that. I told them they would have to give me more info before I reserved it.
