Before the return of the action figures, the Special Editions, and the prequels, Dark Horse Comics and Timothy Zhan's Thrawn trilogy were helping to usher in the return of Star Wars, which had been pretty dormant since the mid 1980's The writer of a number of those Dark Horse Comics series was Tom Veitch..

1991s Dark Empire rejoined the heroes of the New Republic as they faced the remnants of the Empire.



1993's Tales Of The Jedi told stories set thousands of years before the films.
