In January, Marvel will launch
Star Wars: Obi-Wan And Anakin, a a five-issue miniseries exploring Obi-Wan and Anakin's early years as master and apprentice. Written by Charles Soule (
Lando) and art by Marco Checchetto (
Shattered Empire), the series takes place "
about three years after Phantom Menace, give or take,” with a 12/13 year old Anakin Skywalker. "...[H]e’s been training in the Jedi Temple for that time, he’s got his lightsaber. He and Obi-Wan are sort of flying from place to place. They’re going to meet up with a diplomatic fleet and then they hear a distress call from a planet that’s supposed to be completely dead, there’s not supposed to be anything on it. So, they answer the distress call and that’s where the adventure begins. It’s neat. It happens at a very pivotal time for them in their relationship. They’ve both got to the point where they’re starting to ask some important questions about each other and themselves.”
