In anticipation of the December 2015 release of
Star Wars: Episode VII, Disney Publishing will introduce new generations to the Original Trilogy with four new retellings of the original films by childrens authors; "
The Adventures of Luke Skywalker", written by Tony DiTerlizzi (
The Spiderwick Chronicles) and illustrated by Ralph McQuarrie's original concept art paintings, and adaptations of Episodes IV-VI;
A New Hope by R.J. Palacio (
Wonder),
The Empire Strikes Back by Adam Gidwitz (
A Tale Dark And Grim), and
Return of the Jedi by Tom Angleberger (
Origami Yoda Series), each of them illustrated by Ian McCaig, prequel concept artist and designer behind the look of Darth Maul.
