These pictures have made me want to get the Hulk

Now my next thought is how easy would be to customize into a trooper looking fig?

Obadiah's main torso is molded to the Iron Monger suit, but his head and neck area are actually on a spring to recess into the torso when you close up the armor. His head doesn't actually go inside the helmet. Good thing is, he's bald & wearing a generic jumpsuit with not a lot of detail, so you have pretty much a clean slate to work from.

When I was younger and G.I.Joe was still with Marvel, I was always glad none of the other Marvel properties crossed-over with G.I.Joe. I always thought G.I.Joe was much too realistic to work with any of the Marvel heroes. I still think Spiderman, The X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and super heroes like that are still too far out there to work with G.I.Joe.

But, I'm a sucker for cross-overs and What-if's, and G.I.Joe exists in a universe that includes BATs, Serpentor, Zartan, and Cobra Commander's battle armor. You can even include the far out aspects like Cobra La, Manimals, and Venom Troops just for the sake of argument.

What if:

Dr. Bruce Banner was the lead scientist, not on the Super Soldier program, but G.I.Joe's Super Trooper program, and Captain America (Conrad Hauser?) was the first subject. In an effort to recreate his success, Banner uses himself as a test subject and accidentally transforms himself into The Incredible Hulk! Now the G.I.Joe Team must track The Hulk down before he's unleashed on the public or Cobra catches him so Dr. Mindbender to create a monster of his own!

Flint - "NO! Snake-Eyes! Don't hurt him! It's Dr. Banner!"

Roadblock - "Don't hurt him? What about me? This green biatch, I'm 'bout ta fricassee!"

Ya'll like how I did that? Used Roadblock's love of rhyming and cooking together? I thought ya'll would. lol

What if:

Stark Enterprises is the American rival of the Scottish based M.A.R.S. and creates technology and weapons for the G.I.Joe Team. Cobra Commander, always looking for a better deal, makes an under-the-table deal with Obadiah Stane unknown to Tony Stark. G.I.Joe begins to find Stark tech at different attacks. G.I.Joe doesn't realize it's Cobra, because they've always used M.A.R.S. equipment, and confront Stark. Stark as Iron Man begins his own investigation. The Joes come across Iron Man, assume he must be behind the attacks, and attempt to take him into custody. A battle ensues until the Joes realize Iron Man isn't behind the attacks. Then, Iron Man assists the G.I.Joe Team in finding out who is behind the attacks. Meanwhile, Stane has double-crossed Cobra Commander and he is forced to crawl back to Destro to save him from Iron Man and the G.I.Joe team.

"You should have stuck with McCullen. At least he has honor!"

Yeah...I have too much time on my hands...

You just sold me on that Iron monger, i wondered how he would look next to joes. Now my next thought is how easy would be to customize into a trooper looking fig?

Nice pics guys.

Cobra Command - 2008-06-14 @ 3:58 am

I was still shocked when I saw the Joe Bazooka and Saw Viper molds repainted for the line at Walmart the other day. Had no idea those were done!

Freedom - 2008-06-14 @ 2:11 am

Iron Monger has gotten in on the action!

"I think it's time we revisited our original agreement, Cobra Commander!"

"Put me down, you insolent FOOL! We had a deal!"

The Obadiah head is about the same size as Serpentor's, so it fits in-scale with the Joes. Jeff Bridges has a big head anyway! Iron Monger is actually out of scale with the other Iron Man figures.

That's great! lol

Actually we're not far off. Who remembers that The Hulk actually appeared in Marvel G.I.Joe #10?

OK. It was actually a guy in a Hulk suit that Scarlett, Snake-Eyes, & Zap accidentally landed on after parachuting from a Cobra rocket building, but close enough!

Viper Hunter - 2008-06-12 @ 12:18 am

"HULK SAVE JOES...SMASH COBRAAAAA!!!"

man...we're REALLY goin' back in time now!
