Peter Mayhew At Megcon 2014

Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew was part of a Star Wars panel discussion, as well as, he Clone Wars' Tom Kane, at this weekend's Megcon, and he revealed some behind the scenes tidbits about filming the Original Trilogy.

"...Chewbacca's head tilt was inspired by him having to duck to go through doorways." *

He says the Holiday Special was "an interesting thing", but, it paid some bills. *

"...Empire was the most fun to film because everyone was more comfortable with their characters" *

"...the Chewie costume was hot and sauna-like even while filming in Norway. Like wearing winter clothes all the time." *

On reports of Chewie's death in the Expanded Universe, "family was shocked,... thought something had happened to Peter!" **

he once told a young concerned fan,"I'm here and as far as I'm concerned I ain't dead yet" **

"...publisher who called him said EU books do not have a bearing on the movies" **

When asked if he has read about Episode VII online, Mayhew says. "No, I don't know anything about it." *

"If [more Star Wars] comes, great. If not, I can always sign my name. And there's plenty to sign." *

I forgot about Megacon I haven't been there since 2005 and i'm 2 hours away from it.My freind went and he got his picture taken with the cast of the origional BSG
