Hah, I hate saying no to them. I feel so bad, b/c I know they make money off it... But then again, people do tell me I'm too nice. Lol
I'm usually good with people, I was in retail/sales for a little over 10 years, and you kind of need to know how to talk to people, people give off vibes, when they want t o listen to you, when they don't care, stuff like that, it's a little tricky, but I've even been able to pick up on the little vibes over the phone too, lol.. and that first lady wanted nothing to do with me at all.. she wanted to put me in my place, with her matter of fact, talking down to me way, and that's just not gonna fly with me... especially if essentially, I'm the one responsible for her even having a job... I'm usually not mean when it comes to things like this, like I explained to the second lady, "I understand it's your job" and stuff like that, I know all about running a business, so I know what things need to be done, and I totally get that, but I won't let some two-bit "customer service agent" talk to me like I'm a 6 yearold, lol...
What's funny is about an hour or so after I talked to the second lady, the phone rang, I usually don't answer it cause I don't wanna deal with telemarketers anymore than I have to but I wanted to test it.. sure enough...
Pinjab from India
"Hellow Mr. Joseph, this is Pinjab from Discover calling"
yep..same ol' crap, lol.. trying to sell me the accidental death crap.. trust me, I'm not in enough debt to actually buy that crap, if I died tomorrow, my fam will be fine, so I don't need to give you guys.. EVEN MORE money...
anyway.. If I were you guys(girl).. and you've paid your bills on time over the last year, call them and see if they can lower your APR, it wont hurt.. it's not like they'll say.. wait.. no, we can't.. but we will raise it, lol
just don't buy into anything else.. even if you have to listen to Pinjab read a screen full of crap, they're trained to, just bare with him and tell them you're not interested, if they try to push it, and let you know there's no obligation, tell them no, just raise your voice a little and say, I SAID NO, and if they push even more, say it again and that you'd like to speak to their supervisor.. that last one works wonders, lol.. "Thank you for choosing enter card company here again, and have a nice day" is what you'll usually get after that
Oh me too... If someone is nice, I cave waaaay too easily. I express myself better thru writing/emails.
Geez, way to treat a customer. How can they help if they don't shut up and let you explain what is going on.
I really need to see if I can get my interest rate lowered. I wonder if I can do that through an e-mail. I hate talking on the phone.
Wow... I'm glad you got it all straightened out. I have a feel that 1st CS rep isnt going to be working there too much longer!! I need to call my Chase card and see if they can lower my rate!! I'm not sure what it is though.. I know it's probably nearing 27%!
I accidently paid a day late last month with them, so I emailed them and they waived the late fee for me right away. GO ME! (i am like your wife.. I usually just sit back and take it. NO more though!! )
