TNI Reader Review: Star Wars Unleashed Wave 7 Figures By Brandon Miller

Jay Cochran - March 13, 2004
The Star Wars Unleashed series concludes with wave 7 which sports the new and attractive packaging! This series consists of Chewbacca, Clone Trooper, and X-Wing Luke Skywalker! For the collector's who like the Unleashed figures Hasbro previously released in series one Darth Maul, Jango and Boba Fett. In the second series Anikan Skywalker, Padmae Amidala, and Darth Vader (Bespin). In the third installment Mace Windu and Darth Tyranus, fourth series consist of Princess Leia (Jabba's Slave) and Darth Vader (same release as before) with a removable helmet which reveals his face! Series five has younger Obi-Wan Kenobi from Attack of the Clones, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Luke from Return of the Jedi), and Darth Sidious (Emperor Palpatine), and last but not least series six has Han Solo (from A New Hope), Yoda (from Attack of the Clones), and Boba Fett (from Return of the Jedi)! Here I will review series seven and I hope you enjoy it!

Accessories: The accessories are pretty good! Luke comes with his blue lightsaber which the blade is removeable and Hoth base. Clone Trooper includes a blaster rifle and a base with a fallen Clone Trooper on the ground! Chewy includes his bowcaster and a base of Endor! All of the things that comes with the figures look decent and authentic!

Articulation: These figures are mini statues and in My opinion they do require articulation. The only figure in this set that has any kind of movement is the Wookie and he has a ball jointed left shoulder.

Durability: One thing I like about these Star Wars figures is that they are very sturdy due to the excellent plastic they are made of so they are very durable!

Packaging: The series has the new and cool looking packaging which has artwork on the top front of the card and a new Unleashed logo and character name style. Yet I am still disappointed that there is still no pictures of the characters on either side from the films but it does look good with the character artwork though it is not something I prefer. This new packaging is really awesome looking and gives this great series something new for its collector's!

Paint: Like usually there are only a couple tiny white mess or something on them but in My opinion it is no big deal and it is hardly noticeable! Otherwise terrific paint applications here! One thing I like to point out is the dust on the Clone Trooper's shins! Great detail!

Sculpting: This is the big part! The sculpting category! The Clone Trooper is a tremendous sculpt! Arguably the best of the entire line! What makes him so great is that the armor and the rifle are accurate to the film! It really looks like a person frozen in time! The base is from the battle on Geonosis and on the base is a Clone Trooper who has fallen into battle which I don't know if you would count this as a second figure but whatever you decide this fallen trooper also has great sculpting! His chest and helmet are damaged which really looks he got shot and killed on the rocky terrain! As for the son of Skywalker, Luke's X-Wing gear is sculpted wonderfully especially his helmet! The strap on his chin looks realistic but the visor on it is glued and I don't recommend taking it off but anyway it looks great like that! The lightsaber also looks realistic! The face sculpt it very good and resembles Mark Hamill a lot! Luke's base is from the battle of Hoth and looks good because! see it has some wires and the like from a destroyed AT-AT! The mighty Chewbacca is in My opinion the neatest of the three! He is very large and is the tallest Unleashed figure thus far! His hair, hands, feet, and face look great! I love the war expression on his face! His bowcaster looks like the real thing and it even has a very thick piece of string from side to side! I think all of three of these Unleashed figures look incredible!

Overall: Series 7 of Star Wars Unleashed is arguably the best of the entire line! You have three great characters, three awesome figures which two are brand new to the Unleashed series! They have little or no paint problems, Some of the best sculpting, great displaying, and at an affordable price tag! What more could a Star Wars fan and figure collector want? These figures has so much power that in My opinion this very set is a must own and I believe most Star Wars collectors and fans will love these figures in their collection!
