It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Mandalorian GV-01 model kits set and
Star Wars Champion Class Darth Vader and
Stormtrooper model kits from
Blokees! I've been keeping an eye on those
Blokees model kits for a while and was pretty impressed by the
Transformers,
Marvel or
Saint Seiya figures, but tried to keep away from those. When they announced
Star Wars kits, I had to give them a try, mostly out of curiosity. And those model kits did not disappoint! The smaller blind box ones are fun, easy and quick to build, and the bigger figures are very decent. I will definitely keep an eye on Blokees!
The
Blokees Star Wars The Mandalorian GV-01 sets come in blind boxes, and I grabbed a box to have the full set. This was before knowing that there is a
chase box with a different Mando with different accessories, meaning that there's a chance you don't get a full set, but get the chase, and then have to hunt down the missing one to complete your set. It's by design, those blind boxes companies (
Blokees, Pop Mart,...) totally do that on purpose so you have to buy more.
Yay!

The kits take a few minutes to built, the pieces snap together very easily and the figures are pretty fun! No glue, tools or paint required. The figures are about
4,3" (11cm), so slightly taller than a
TVC figure (
comparison pics below). The full set includes the
Mandalorian,
Grogu, the
Armorer,
Boba Fett,
IG-11,
Ahsoka,
Moff Gideon, a
Stormtrooper and an
Incinerator trooper. My only nitpick is that
Grogu is completely out of scale, and way bigger (
even bigger than the Black Series one). I wanted to try
Blokees and got exactly what I wanted: fun, cool looking mini action figure model kits.

The
Champion Class is
Blokees' 1/12 scale figure model kit line. The first 2 releases were
Darth Vader and a
Stormtrooper. Those kits take a bit longer to build, since they come on sprues (
although you don't necessarily need pliers or cutters for those, they snap very easily and don't leave a lot of marks). The parts that need paint are already painted. It takes an hour or 2 to build your figure, and those figures are pretty great, with lots of articulations. That
Stormtrooper can move!
Darth Vader's cape, made of hard plastic hinders movement a bit, but you can still get decent poses out of him. They come with
extra hands and a nice
stand, with
Star Wars logo on it. They're cheap and the figures are great. Like
IKEA, they're cheaper, but you have to build them.
Is that the future of action figures? Honestly, I wouldn't be mad at that. I enjoy a nice model kit every now and then.
