This week, we're having a look at the
Star Wars: The Black Series Holiday Edition figures from 2023 from
Hasbro. This year, it was
WAY easier to get those, thanks to Hasbro Pulse distributing nearly all of them outside of the US. I didn't have to ask for help from a friend to go and grab the
exclusives from different stores, just had to place one order on
Hasbro Pulse, and one on
Amazon.
YAY! This year's figure have a bit more
variety, and are not just
Stormtroopers or
Clone troopers repaints, which is great.
Ho ho ho!
The
Mandalorian Scout is the first one I got this year, and was an
Amazon exclusive. He comes with his
jetpack, a
blaster and a festive
Anzellan figure. This
Mandalorian looks pretty great, and could be used even outside of holidays, since he's not too 'loud' about it. He has an ugly sweater, but I imagine customizers will just repain that to have a normal blue Mandalorian Scout.
The
Purge Trooper was a
'fan-channel' exclusive figure in the US, and was available at
BigBadToyStore or
Entertainment Earth. He comes with a blaster rifle
and a golden
mouse droid. He is painted as a
nutcracker, which suits him very well, and is way more fun than just r
ed and green colors.
The Christmas
Jawa was also a
'fan-channel' exclusive figure, and was available at
BigBadToyStore or
Entertainment Earth. That
Jawa comes with a
blaster attached to his belt, and a green, festive
Salacious Crumb, which is articulated too (so it's a
2-pack?). The red and white cape for the
Jawa was a great idea. Imagine Jawas replacing Christmas elves!
The
KX Security Droid was a
Walmart exclusive in the US, and comes with a
blaster and a
BD-1 droid. It's a fun repaint, I've always liked the design of those, and adding a Christmas touch (
white with red and green parts) does suit him well. It fills the "
abominable snowman" place that the white
Wookiee filled last year.
The white
Ewok figure was exclusive to
Hasbro Pulse. It comes with a
stick, a
bright red chest and a
Porg. It's a pretty fun figure too, but somehow, I feel like it's not christmas-y enough. A white ewok with a green hood seems like it can exist and isn't something that only screams 'holidays'. Also, an
Ewok and a
Porg in the same packaging?
Are they trying to make Star Wars purists mad?!
Last but not least, the
Target Exclusive Snowtrooper. Another fun design for the trooper in that wave, one was a
nutcracker and this one is a
snowman, complete with carrot nose and all. He comes with his
backpack, a
rifle and a white
interrogator droid. It looks so goofy it's just great.

May the Holiday Spirit be with you!
