Word around the connected planets right now is that George Lucas is cooking up something "Star Wars" related to follow next May's "Episode III". What is it? No idea. Some suggest it's a live-action sequel series that'll pick-up after "Jedi" (Carrie Fisher goes back to Fat Farm, reads newspaper headline), some say it'll be something like that but in the form of a television mini-series, another rumour has an animated pic in the works, whilst more recent rumours suggest it'll be a weekly Television series, not necessarily about whiny sister-kissing Luke and his dark daddy.
A few weeks back a rumour surfaced that king-daddy of the fart joke movie, Kevin Smith, was going to be in charge of such a series. And funnily enough, he hasn't debunked the news yet either which makes one think there's something in this www whisper after all.
In a new interview with
About.com, the "Clerks" alumni kept mum on the subject but apparently offered a telling smile.
What about the rumors of your involvement in a “Star Wars” TV series?
I read those as well. It’s so weird, isn’t it? I thought it was weird.
You’re not going to do it? Or you’re not going to talk about?
(Smiling) I’ve got nothing to say, really.
Would it interest you?
Sure. Who wouldn’t want to run a “Star Wars” TV show?
Meantime, Smith better get back to the typewriter. He's got till November 1st to hand in the first draft of "The Green Hornet".
