After almost 40 years, filmmaker Phil Tippett is closing his Berkley studio. Tippett whose work on such films as the
Star Wars trilogy and "
Jurassic Park won two Academy Awards, was forced to close
as part of the studio's Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The closures allowed collectors, fans and former employees a chance to claim props and memorabilia. Tippett says, "I don't have any place to put anything. And I really don't like to have my work stuff in the house."
He says he is not ready to retire and plans to continue working.
