Marcia Lucas, George’s Former Wife And Film Editor, Has Died At 80

Marcia Lucas, who was married to George from 1969 - 1983, was an assistant editor on his feature directorial debut,THX 1138andAmerican Graffiti, for which, she earned her first Oscar nomination n 1974. She would go on to win an Academy Award for best editing forStar Warsalongside editors Paul Hirsch and Richard Chew.George credited the editor for the films final battle sequence, telling Rolling Stone in 1977, My wife, Marcia, can normally cut a whole reel all ten minutes of the film in one week. I think it took her eight weeks to cut that battle. It was extremely complex and we had 40,000 feet of dialogue footage of pilots saying this and that. And she had to cull through all that, and put in all the fighting as well. Nobody really has ever tried to interweave an actual plot story into a dogfight.(Yahoo)

Artist Greg Hilderbrandt, who helped to create one of the most iconic Star Wars images, has died at age 85. Greg and his brother Tim (1939 - 2006) were known as the"Brothers Hilderbrandt", and known for their Star Wars and "Lord Of The Rings" artwork, among many other properties.

Sad news, one movie from him that doesn't get mentioned is Best of the Best. That was a favorite of mine growing up.

Sad news, I loved his work in the Captain America, Astonishing X-men and Star Wars comics, rest in peace.
