Yesterday at the Celebration Europe convention we got our first glimpse at the live-action version of Grand Admiral Thrawn in the Disney+ Ahsoka series that will be premiering in August. Thrawn was first introduced to Star Wars fans back in 1991 in the classic Timothy Zahn Heir To The Empire novels. While those where not considered "Official" Star Wars cannon, Dave Filoni brought Thrawn into official Star Wars cannon by introducing him in his Rebels animated series which was the last time we saw the character in official Star Wars lore. Much of the Ahsoka series appears to be focusing on the characters from that Rebels series and is expected to tie up many of the loose ends that remained unresolved at the end of that series. Today we have learned that the live-action version of Thrawn will be played by actor Lars Mikkelsen who has appeared in shows such as the recent Netflix The Witcher series.

Why wouldn't they just get the original actress? I thought she already played her in the Squadrons video game. Hera is one of my favorite Star Wars characters so I am excited to see her in live action. I don't have any problem with her playing the character as long as it's done well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Im excited to see her too, but yeah I agree its kinda weird. Its almost like shes there just because of Ewen (no disrespect to her)

I love MEW... but isn't she too tall to be Hera? I thought she'd be cast as someone else/someone new... let's see where this goes.
