Disney+ Cassian Andor Rogue One Prequel Series To Begin Production This Year

Jay Cochran - February 12, 2020
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Diego Luna confirmed that the Disney+ Rogue One prequel series based on Cassian Andor will go into production this year. Luna first portrayed the character of Andor in the Rogue One movie, and now will hold the starring role for this new series along with Alan Tudyk as the droid K-2SO.

The Andor series will be joining the likes of the successful Mondarlorian series which will see season 2 kick off in October. Also coming to Disney+ will be the final season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, which kicks off later this month on February 21, and the Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which had it's production pushed back until early next year as they rework some of the scripts.

Depending on the timeline I guess it makes sense for them not to have K-2SO show up  at least not yet anyway.

This one and the Book of Boba Fett, are the live action projects for which I have most interest, maybe Visions will also be interesting.

While Lucasfilm announced K-2SO to be part of the upcoming Andor series, Alan Tudyk, the actor who helped bring him to life in Rogue One reveals he is not currently involved with the series. "They're shooting it right now, I'm not in it. But, if it stays on the air, stories keep getting told, I'll end up in there.". Depending on how far they are into filming, is K-SO being introduced later in the season, or are there plans for a second season? Due to the challenges of preforming his character using stilts, Tudyk hopes to be included soon. "...I turn 50 in March. So I hope they get to it soon, because I'm not going to be on stilts in, like, five years. I'm not doing it!"(Source: EmpireOnline)

Something tells me this won't be starting production this year after all.

It's always good to see more alien designs, but I hope we see some familiar ones too.

Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars, so I'm incredibly hyped about this series.
