While the Benoff and Weiss Star Wars project may have fallen through, The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson says he is still in talks with Lucasfilm regarding a trilogy of films, first announced in 2017. "We’re still engaged with Lucasfilm and we’ll wait and see,...No updates on it at this moment, but yeah.”

Rian Johnson Reaffirms His Star Wars Trilogy Is Still In The Works

The Last Jedidirector Rian Johnson responds to new reports that his trilogy of Star Wars films was said to no longer be happening.

This trilogy,announced in late 2017, "is separate from the episodic Skywalker saga, Johnson will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored."

I hope so, man... While TLJ still proves to be a love/hate divisive line down the middle of the fandom, I personally fall on the love side. And Im chomping at the bit to see what else he can bring to this universe.
