As composer John Williams was honored this week by the American Film Institute's (AFI) Life Achievement Award for his six decades of iconic film scores, it was revealed that he plans to revisit two Lucafilm franchises.
After Spielberg’s next film, “Ready Player One,” in November, he expects to work on the next “Star Wars” film next year.
“If I can do it, I certainly will. I told Kathy Kennedy I’m happy to do it, but the real reason is, I didn’t want anybody else writing music for Daisy Ridley,” he quips.
Williams has received 50 Academy Award nominations (the most-nominated living person), and won five times; as well as 22 Grammys, seven BAFTAs, five Emmys, four Golden Globes, a Kennedy Center Honor and the National Medal of Arts. He is the first composer to receive the Life Achievement Award.
