J. J. Abrams On The Origins Of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'' Kylo Ren

Bespin refugee - August 12, 2015

Entertainment Weekly talks to J. J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan about the character of Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While not much is revealed, there are some hints to his backstory. Like "Darth", it turns out "Ren" is also a title, originating from the 'Knights Of Ren'. Abrams says we'll learn about the origins of Kylo Ren's mask, lightsaber, and more, when The Force Awakens arrives in theatres on Dec. 18th.

Entertainment Weekly's Fall Movie Preview issue hits newsstands on Friday, August 14th.
