J. J. Abrams' Back-Breaking Work On Star Wars: The Force Awakens

While promoting "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, J. J. Abrams revealed Harrison Ford was not the only one injured on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After the hydraulic door broke Ford's ankle, Abrams tried to lift him up, and "...I hear a pop [in my back] and I go, 'Oh, that's weird.'" A doctor told him had he broken his L4 in his spine.
"A few months later I'm still wearing this really silly back brace under my shirt, nobody knows, I didn't tell anybody. Harrison Ford from across the stage sprints to me faster than I will ever run, and he's like 'Hey, J.J.!'"

Abrams said of Ford, "The guy is like a real life superhero."
