After completing the first draft of the script for the 2016
Star Wars standalone film,
Gary Whitta left the project, and has been replaced by Chris Weitz, but, he says Whitta's work remains "the core" of the movie. Weitz also mentions the secrecy involved with the project, saying, he "wasn't able to see the script until...after I was brought on board." He describes the original films as "a formative experience in my life", and working on the standalone film is working "on something I've been dreaming of doing." What can we expect with the film? "...Expect everything because it's Star Wars,...If I didn't do that I'm failing in my job."
