While
Star Wars Rebels seems to be a success, already having received
second season commitment, Lucasfilm may already be at work on the next era of animated
Star Wars. According to Slashfilm,
Rebels will run for '“about” three or four seasons', followed by a new series, with all new characters, set during the sequel trilogy. This new series is thought to start in 2017/18, around the time of
Episode VIII.
