Star Wars Merchandising Deals And Stand-Alone 'Origin' Films In The Works

Bespin refugee - September 12, 2013
During an investor conference on Thursday, Disney Co. chief financial officer Jay Rasulo refered to Star Warsas an “evergreen property” that could become even more valuable with the right deals. Similar to what they've done with Marvel, they plan to broaden the range of merchandise, in preparation for 2015's release of Episode 7. As was previously revealed, there will be 'origin story films', in addition to the upcoming sequels.

No different than JK Rowling being hired to write more Harry Potter spin off films. These studios aren't going to rest at a half dozen movies. Those three movies you really, really liked from your childhood are a cow. It's great that you liked them, you still CAN like them, but they're going to be milked. Milked for all their worth.

Remember "The For...tune will be with you always"........they need to copy right that as well, also when someone breaks out a random Yoda-like reference they have to pay up......much like "lets get ready to fumble"....does that guy still charge a million dollars an appearance?........The Power of the For...tune is strong w/this one......May the for....tune be w/you........."The For...tune is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an cash flow created by the toil of all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the economy together."

"origin" story films...sigh...Well, I guess a decomposing corpse leaves lots of soft spots for continued "working over"...wait, scratch that...they went with "sky's the limit" and not what it really is?
