IGN is reporting that a new Star Wars animated series called Star Wars: Rebels is in the works from Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars), Greg Weisman (Young Justice) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class). The series is set to debut sometime in 2014 on DisneyXD and will be an action-packed series set between the events of Episode III and IV. The series will focus on how the Empire tries to tighten it's grip on the galaxy after the events of Revenge of the Sith and how the Rebel Alliance rises up to eventually stop them. Though no are has been released as of yet for the new series, Filoni did post some artwork of a Tie Fighter presumably from this new series.
