May 25th 1977, 35 years ago today, Star Wars was introduced to millions for the first time ever, opening in just 30 - 40 theaters. It went on to become the number one movie of all time breaking records for that time.It stayed number 1 until 1982 when it was replaced by E.T.

Star Wars was renamed with subtitle of "Episode IV: A New Hope" in 1981.
