Star Wars Custom Of The Week: "Look Sir, Droids!" By Hemble Creations

Bespin refugee - March 08, 2020

This week's custom is "Look Sir, Droids! (28mm) by Hemble Creations

"Recipe.

Troopers - are from Fantasy Flight Games SW Legion Trooper expansion and I modified the trooper holding the droid part by cutting his hand and rotating it and the droid part is just a piece of thin electrical cable.

The trooper looking into the escape pod has had his left hand removed and the hand armour cut and thinned down and added to a Airfix 1:48 scale hand.

The escape pod is also from Fantasy Flight Games and was a trade with a member in the Star Wars Legion North Queensland FB group.

Base - is high density foam cut to shape and then a hole was done to allow the pod to sit lower and the I used a mix of spakfilla, sand and Vallejo's Iraqui Sand and applied it to the base. The foot prints and R2's tracks were done using a thin wet brush.

'Enemy Contact' DioramaByHemble CreationsHi All,Enemy contact, Endor - 1:12 scaleRecipe.Troopers - are from Hasbro and are the Jedha Troopers and I put them is the poses I wanted and glued the joints and puttied them up and then repainted and weathered them using Vallejo Paints and Pastel Chalks.Base - is made from foam, the tree trunks are from the local bushland and treated with methylated spirits to stop them rotting and to kill any bugs. The groundwork is a mixture of sand/mulched potty mix/spakfilla and the ferns and bushes are plastic plants repainted and the rest of the vegetation is from Gamers Grass.Check out more images of their custom below in our GALLERY!If you would like to submit your own custom figure(s) to be displayed on JediInsider.com, be sure to check out ourCustom Forum section, where you can discuss and show off your work among other customizers.

'It Feels Like We're Being Watched" ByHemble CreationsHi All,"It feels like we're being watched", 1:48 scale.Recipe.Figures/AT-ST - the stormtroopers are from SEB Miniatures and the Ewoks are from Anvil Rage Studios, and I painted them using Vallejo paints. The AT-ST is from Bandai and was built straight out of the box and painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.Base - is made using foam and I built up the landscape until I was happy and then made the trees using PVC piping and then using Aluminium foil and wrap it around the pipes and glued it into place using super glue. I then used watered down spakfilla and brushed it over the foil and once dry it was painted with Vallejo Paints. The branches I used Woodland Scenics tree sets and cut off the branches and applied glued and then added crushed Woodland Scenics foilage over the branches and glued them on.The groundwork was down using garden mulch which was crushed and then applied it to the base and the stream was down using kitty litter for the stream rocks and painted them and then I used Woodland Scenics realistic water and then their Water effects to make little flows of water flowing over the rocks. The moss on the trees was done using fine sand and green paint mixed with a little PVA glue, the grass tufts and thick ground grass I got of eBay and the ferns and plants are from Gamers Grass and the larger bushes are from Woodland Scenics.Check out more images of their custom below in our GALLERY!If you would like to submit your own custom figure(s) to be displayed on JediInsider.com, be sure to check out ourCustom Forum section, where you can discuss and show off your work among other customizers.

This week's custom is a6" Boba Fett Resin StatuebyHemble Creations"Recipe - the figure and base were printed in resin from a mate and I painted and weathered it using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.the flames were done using Woodland Scenics Water Effects and spreading over a piece of non stick cooking paper and once dry I peeled it off and painted the smooth side with red, yellow and orange and then wrapped it around the existing flames which were just vertical lines. The smoke was done using cotton balls and then ripping them apart and applying them to the base and then I used Rust-oluem Matt Black and Light Grey to make the smoke colours."Check out more images of their custom below in our GALLERY!If you would like to submit your own custom figure(s) to be displayed on JediInsider.com, be sure to check out ourCustom Forum section, where you can discuss and show off your work among other customizers.

This week's custom is aHero Cross SandtrooperbyHemble Creations

"Hi All,I have always wanted a Hero Cross Sandtrooper but they have been way to pricey so when I got a chance to buy a cheap Hero Cross Stormtrooper I picked him up and redid him as a Snadtrooper.Recipe.Figure - as mentioned he is a Hero Cross Stormtrooper and I removed the thermal detonator and then added the pauldron and back pack from a BS Sandtrooper. I like the back pack being larger then it should as to me it keeps in theme of the characters cartoony appearance, I then gave him a wash of GW Agrax Earthshade and then used pastel chalks to add the dust.

Base - as with the figure I wanted to look a little cartoony so I made the walls larger and door smaller and I made the walls using foam board and the greeblies on the wall and the door comms are from my parts box, the door is made using foam board and plastic card and the door frame is plastic tiles. The texture on the walls was done using watered down down spakfilla and then I painted and weathered it using Vallejo paints. The sand was done by laying watered down spakfilla and then sprinkling sand over the top and then once dry I painted it.The tarp is a dried out baby wipe and the poles are wooden dowels and the under the tarp is string to hold the pole and tarp up. The containers are old asthma bottle and some odd stands I had in the spare box and I kept these odd sizes again to keep with the cartoony theme.
