Jedi Knight Shado Vao Figure By Mr. Nobody

By Jay Cochran on 2010-10-03 in Custom Toys & Art
This custom was done by Mr. Nobody who has created a custom Jedi Knight Shado Vao figure. Here is how Nobody describes the making of this figure:

"Head-tails = POTF2 Oola
Head/neck = GIJoe:ROC Pit Commando
Torso = Comic Pack Obi-Wan
Arms = Tol Skorr
Legs = SA/SP Plo Koon (the latest release one)
Kilt = Lumiya cape, heavily modded
Tabbards = ROTS Mace Windu/AOTC Aayla Secura
Forehead-sculpting = Kneadatite
Lightsabre = Darth Maul PVC(chopped), w/ random blue blade

I'm very happy with the end results. Still need to add a second blade for his lightsabre. The head didn't turn out quite the way I wanted, so I might make a new one in the future, but I'm pretty satisfied for now."

So MOTU was pretty much about He-Man and Skeletor, but there was a vast number of cool supporting characters on each side that each had something unique to bring to the table, be it a great design, awesome action feature, or a new twist to the story line. But honestly some where more successful than others in both the heroic and morally-questionable armies. Was there one who stood out to you as a little too pointless and unneccessary? Maybe a villain who strived too hard for 'frightening' and 'sinister' and only wound out woefully ridiculous. A hero who's whole reason for being is wrapped up in a rather pointless ability or action feature. Or perhaps a comic relief character who just wasn't very funny. I never really took to Prince Adam and couldn't wait for him to drop the goof act and get to work as He-Man. Chime in and give your LEAST favorite Master of the Universe!

After watching a few of the old MOTU episodes and then reading the pre-Adam mini-comics, I've got to say that I've had a change of heart and have turned 180 on the Prince Adam issue. He-man needs Adam because the persona makes him more human and relatable. He-man's compassion, warmth and humor come out of his humility and vulnerabilty as Adam. But, I still think I like classic "pink-vest" Adam over the 200x version, because I prefer the Donald Blake-Thor dynamic of the original Filmation series. Wasn't that the point of Blake, after all, but to make Thor humble?

So, I guess that I need a new pick for suckiest character... Hmmm, Courtney Cox, maybe?

For me I have to go with Gwildor. He was my least favorite out of everyone.

He-Man, can't stand the guy....just kidding, Rio last or Orko would be totally unnecessary, Fisto just for the name alone.

I hated a few of them as a kid, namely Gwildor (both char. and toy), meteorbs (might explain why I never bought any), Rotarr & Twistoid, and maybe a couple others I can't think of. Surprisingly, I liked some of the other ones people hate (like Snout Spout, Clamp Champ and some others).

But you gotta admit, if T4H gave them all the treatment, you can bet they'd be 100x cooler than they were back then.

I've said it before,I'll say it again. Stonedar and Rokkon. They can turn into rocks. Wow. These guys are as useless as the Rock Lords from Gobots.

Yeah, even though I had Rokkon...or Stonedar as a kid, that's how much these guys sucked, I can't even remember which one I had~lol!

And I think this thread would be better considering the toys as opposed to the characters in the cartoon. The cartoon was a glorified commercial dedicated to selling toys first, and telling a story second. To try and look too deeply into characterization or plot is redonculous.

Oh, another guy that sucked was Snout Spout, he had bad colors, and some weird robotic elephant head on some normal dude's body. Although the staction version was admittedly wicked cool.

What I don't understand or care for is the fascination with the Green Goddess. Over at the He-Man.org forums, you'd think she was the most important character after He-Man and Skeletor rather than the insignificant one she actually is.

I haven't seen all the MOTU related stuff recently (or some of it at all I guess). Who is she again?

I don't know the exact details, but I'm pretty sure she's just the Sorceress from the first mini comic. For some reason, she was green. The mini comic still refers to her as the Sorceress, but somewhere along the way the Green Goddess became a common name. I don't know if she was green in any other mini comics.

Here's a link to the mini comic on He-Man.org:

This is a difficult one to answer. There are characters I didn't like as much as most of the others, but I wouldn't have a problem with any MOTU character being remade.
