According to the folks over at Rebelscum.com, Hasbro will be releasing a 6" Star Wars Black Series Boba Fett figure as their 2013 Star Wars San Diego Comic Con. This will likely be similar to the way they handled the relaunch of their Marvel Legends line 2 years ago. For those who don't recall, they released a 6" Modern Thor figure with some snazzy exclusive packaging and some added lightening effect on the figure and then released a regular version in the normal Marvel Legends packaging in the first wave which hit retail stores shortly after the convention. It gets people pumped for the launch of a new line and makes for a unique exclusive, but still allows those who don't attend the convention to get a main character in the regular line.

Boba Fett obviously is not confirmed, but Rebelscum did report the existence of the Black line a day before it was officially announced and this fits Hasbro's established track record with these kind of things, so our money is on this rumor being legit. Either way we will likely no for sure with specific details this Saturday (2/9) when we bring you coverage of the Hasbro showroom from the New York Toy Fair.
