2011 SDCC: Lego Star Wars Panel

A behind-the-brick look with the LEGO Star Wars team at how the epic Star Wars story comes together with the creativity and imagination of the LEGO brand. Additionally, be among the first to hear about a special LEGO Star Wars entertainment event, and meet Emmy award-winning writer Michael Price.

- On panel are Derek Stothars with Lucasfilm, Chris Gollaher with Lucasfilm, Matt Shell, Matthew Ashton, Michael Price (writer of the Simpsons), David Scott and Jim Wilfret.

- Their newest Clone Wars Lego videogame has just come out that has new look and feel and includes the animated series. They also have Battle Mode so you can play against each other and has boss fights. It is the biggest Lego Star Wars game to date.

- Showing two TV spots for the Lego game. They wanted to convey the epic size and scale of the game and combine it with Lego humor.

- thy have done about 200 Lego sets since they started doing Star Wars.

- In the first half of the spring 2012 starting in January we should see about 6 new sets and a couple exclusives.

- Lego sometimes Re-Releases many of their sets because they are trying to always bring new kids into the fold. A New Tie-Fighter (9492) is getting re-released. The original was released in 2006. This one will be bigger and come with Tie Fighter Pilot, Death Star Trooper, R5-J2 and Imperial Officer.

- Queen Amidala (9499) mini-figure coming in 2012.

- 2011 Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar coming. A limited-edition is being sold here at SDCC. Has a Christmas Yoda.

- They are excited about their new "The Padwan Menace" Lego Star Wars television special. Michael Price from the Simpsons is involved.

- They are showing some clips from the animated movie which will be airing on Cartoon Network.

The movie will be available on Blu-Ray through Wal-Mart this Fall.

- The Advent Calendar will be available at mass retail this Fall.
